WCC students create sculpture for MDC
Two Waynesville Career Center students designed and built a new sculpture for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) with support from their instructors.
Waynesville Career Center students Rileigh Dykema, an ad design student, and Tanner Asberry, a welding student, created the sculpture, which depicts Missouriās wildlife as a surprise for MDC. MDC served as the client for the ad design student class this year.
The sculpture was revealed during the 8th Annual Portfolio Night on April 11, 2024, which included a banquet featuring Missouri food items prepared and served by culinary arts students.
The three instructors, Donna Groves (advertising design), Adam Rodden (welding) and Jon Dye (culinary arts), along with their students, collaborated to the make the night a success.
During the banquet, advertising design studentsā work on MDC projects, including magazine pages and videos, were showcased.
