The first day of school for all Waynesville R-VI buildings is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 18, 2025. Please see our district directory for individual building hours and student drop off and pick up times.
Grades 6-12 begin at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Grades 6-12 begin at 8 a.m. on Wednesdays. Dismissal is at 2:35 p.m. on all regular school days.
Grades K-5 begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Grades K-5 begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays. Dismissal is at 3:30 p.m. on all regular school days.
Pre-K begins at 8:15 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Doors open at 8:05 a.m. On Wednesdays, Pre-K begins at 8:45 a.m. and doors open at 8:35 a.m. Dismissal is at 3:05 p.m on all regular school days.
Williams Early Childhood Center begins at 8:15 for the a.m. session on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and dismisses at 11:15 for the a.m. session. On Wednesdays, the a.m. session begins at 9 a.m. and doors open at 8:55 a.m. The WECC begins at 12:15 for the p.m. session and dismisses at 3:15 for the p.m. session.

Exciting update! The Tiger Express Book Mobile will now be at Waynesville City Park on both Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon—giving you two chances each week to stop by, pick up some great books and enjoy story time.

Waynesville buses earn Fleet of Excellence Award
Waynesville R-VI has earned the Missouri Highway Patrol's Total Fleet of Excellence Award for 2025 with 93.8 percent of its buses passing inspection. The statewide average is 82.96%.
"The Excellence Award reflects how all of our transportation employees work together to safely deliver our students to and from school each day," said Aaron Tronstad, Director of Transportation.
The award means that the district’s buses can display the Patrol's Total Fleet of Excellence sticker in the lower corner of the first window on the passenger entry side of each bus.

Reese volunteers to read at Tiger Book Express
Walter Reese volunteered to read to children on July 7, 2025, at the Tiger Book Express in the Waynesville City Park. Waynesville R-VI librarians are bringing the book mobile to Waynesville and St. Robert parks this summer.

Waynesville R-VI librarians are bringing the Tiger Book Express to Waynesville and St. Robert parks this summer for children in PreK to 6th grades to check out a book, beginning June 9.
