Rowell

Mrs. Janel Rowell - President

Janel Rowell is a native of the Waynesville-St. Robert community and is the general manager of the Candlewood Suites in St. Robert, which is part of Fort Wood Hotels by Ehrhardt Properties. Rowell has spent 25+ years in the hospitality industry, starting as a housekeeper, working the front desk, and leading in various leadership positions.

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Drury University and a Certified Hospitality Administrator Degree from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute.

She is married to Sam, an instructor on Fort Leonard Wood, and they have two sons, Crismon and Zander.

An active community member and volunteer, Rowell has served on numerous boards, most recently as the President of the Pulaski County Tourism Bureau.  

She was elected to the Board of Education in April 2021 and again in April 2024.

Mr. Charles Quinn

Mr. Charles Quinn - Vice President

Charles Quinn is a retired U.S. Army First Sergeant who has authored, co-authored and edited technical manuals and sensitive intelligence documents in the interest of national security. He served at the White House as a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear advisor and also worked with Camp David, Defense Intelligence Agency and other special presidential facilities, special operations and interrogation assignments. 

 For nearly two decades, Quinn has mentored at-risk adolescents and teens, and most recently volunteered at Waynesville High School. He additionally has served as a life coach and counselor for youth/adults, including as a youth group leader and motivational speaker. He is a Rotarian and also serves on the Fort Leonard Wood Veterans Cemetery Assistance Board and the board of Genesis and Good Samaritan of the Ozarks.

 Quinn has earned degrees in counseling, psychology and management and is pursing a doctorate in theology. He is pastor of Manna-Fest Destiny Ministries and president of the Board of the Community House of Prayer. 

 He and his wife Bonita have been married more than 27 years and have three children, one of whom graduated from Waynesville High School. 

 He was elected to the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education in April 2016, 2019, and 2022.

Mr. Layne Lercher

Mr. Layne Lercher - Secretary

Layne Lercher is a 1989 graduate of Waynesville High School and a lifelong resident of the Waynesville, St. Robert and Fort Leonard Wood communities. He furthered his education by attending Missouri State University, Drury University and received his Bachelor's Degree from Columbia College. In addition to several volunteer positions within the community, Lercher was elected to the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education in 2023.

Joining the staff of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert in 2000 as a licensed funeral director, he continues to serve families today during their greatest time of need. He also has served as Mortuary Affairs Coordinator for the United States Army at Fort Leonard Wood.

He is married to Becky and they make their home in Waynesville along with their daughter Lauryn, a student at Waynesville High School. They are active in their community and attend Westside Baptist Church of Waynesville.

Mike Keeling

Mr. Mike Keeling - Treasurer

A lifelong resident of the Waynesville area, Mike earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a M.S. in Engineering Management from University of Missouri Rolla (now Missouri S & T).

He is married to Patty, a retired kindergarten teacher. They have three children: Kasie Lercher, Cody Keeling and Allison Sylvester and three grandchildren: Brooklynn, Sadie and Remington.

Mike retired in 2007 after more than 30 years of service as the Chief of Operations for the Directorate of Public Works at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.

He has served for more than 21 years on the Board of Education and serves on several committees, including the Operations and Facilities, CSIP and TABS committees. 

He has been a volunteer youth sports coach in the community for over 20 years and has coached many sports, but primarily basketball and soccer.

Keeling's philosophy is that "kids come first and we are always better together."

Mr. Rick Harne

Mr. Rick Harne - Member

Rick Harne is a retired U.S. Army Military Police First Sergeant who served the nation for over 22 years.  Harne has served in over 35 countries around the world performing security for some of the nation’s highest-ranking officials and performed other Military Police duties.  Harne serves as the Executive Director for the Military Police Regimental Association, an internationally recognized organization, since 2009.

Harne was inducted in to the Military Police Corps Hall of Fame in 2019 and recognized as the Waynesville/ St Robert Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2020.

Harne currently serves as a Board member for Infuze Credit Union, Pulaski County Sewer District, and the Waynesville School Foundation.

Harne and his wife Ginger have been married for 32 years and have one son Ryan who graduated from Waynesville High School in 2019.

Harne was elected to the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education in April 2020 and again in April 2023.

Mr. Andy Anderson

Mr. Andy Anderson - Member

Andy Anderson has been a resident of the Waynesville/St. Robert/Fort Leonard Wood area since 1986. He moved here with his family in 1980 as an Army dependent. He graduated from Waynesville High School in 1980. He joined the Army in August of 1980 and served until 1986 on active duty as a flight/combat medic. He served in the Reserves from 1986-1995. He is a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He currently holds many undergraduate hours from Drury University.

Anderson and his wife Pam have been married for 29 years. They have two children, Andrew and Anna, who are both graduates of Waynesville High School. Andy and his family are active members of Westside Baptist Church.

He has been a volunteer coach for youth sports in soccer and basketball. He helps with 12th grade for Youth Group at church. He has served in the Preschool Sunday School. He serves as a Sunday school teacher for adults. He has served on various committees at church such as personnel and stewardship. He is a member of Chapter 49 DAV.

Anderson's philosophy is that our kids come first. Their safety and education should be our number one priority.

Mr. Aaron Pondrom

Mr. Aaron Pondrom - Member

Aaron Pondrom attended school in Sullivan and graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia with a B.S. in Fisheries & Wildlife. After graduation, he attended the Law Enforcement Training Institute at the university and subsequently served two years as a police officer for the City of Sullivan. 

In 1999 he was hired by the Missouri Department of Conservation and graduated from the agency's Conservation Agent Training Academy where he was assigned as a conservation agent for Pulaski County. He currently supervises agents in Pulaski, Phelps, Dent and Shannon Counties. 

His wife Ann is a physical therapist for Mercy and their children, Isabella and Carter, attend school in the district. Aaron has been active as a youth sports coach for 11 years, coaching soccer, basketball and softball.
