Paying for school lunches
All Waynesville R-VI students will receive free breakfast for the 2026-27 school year, and we strongly encourage all families to apply for free and reduced meal assistance at https://www2.myschoolapps.com/Home/PickDistrict (enter 65583).
For parents/guardians who will be paying for lunches, the district offers a couple of options, including:
Cash or checks may be sent to school with students in an envelope marked with the student's first and last name, student ID number (if known), their school name and the amount enclosed. Please allow up to 48 hours for processing of cash or check payments.
Parents may also make a payment using a credit/debit card or electronic check online through MySchoolBucks.com. MySchoolBucks allows parents/guardians to set up auto recurring payments, make one-time payments, review meal history, create low balance alerts and more. Registering for MySchoolBucks is free for meal tracking; however a processing fee of $3.75 per deposit is charged for making payments through the system.

Why Apply?
Many of the programs within the Waynesville R-VI School District are based upon the percentage of students who qualify for free/reduced meals. That information can only be determined accurately if we have a meal application on file for every family for this school year.
More details
- Please allow a minimum of two weeks for your application to be processed.
- Meal applications are stamped with the date received upon arrival in the Food Services Office. Meal status changes are effective as of the date the Food Service Office receives your application. Your application status notification will be e-mailed to you. If you do not receive notification, please contact our office to assure your application has been received and processed.
- Notice for new students: meal assistance applications cannot be processed until your student’s district enrollment is complete.

OPAA! Food Management Inc. is hosting a Community for Kids event from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, in the parking lot next to Parker Educational Center and Waynesville Middle School’s Slaughter Field in Waynesville.
The event will feature bounce houses, inflatables, games, activity challenges, food trucks, music and more.
Admission is $5 per person (ages 3 and up) and includes an event wristband. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to help bridge the hunger gap for Waynesville R-VI students.
The schedule is as follows:
· 11 a.m. Event opens with vendors, food trucks, inflatables, games, etc.
· 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Radio station 107.9 The Coyote will broadcast live
· 11:15 Welcome and opening remarks
· 11:30 a.m. Cornhole tournament registration
· 11:45 a.m. Cornhole tournament begins
· 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Merry Mary’s face painting
· 2 p.m. Jump rope contest
· 3 p.m. Hula hoop contest
· 4 to 7 p.m. Ron Voss Band
· 4:30 Pickle eating contest
· 5:15 Corn eating contest
· 6:15 Contest winners and community recognition
· 8 p.m. Event concludes
The $5 wristband provides unlimited access to all games, contests, inflatables, bounce houses, music and activities throughout the event. Food, beverages and other purchases from vendors are not included and should be purchased directly from the individual vendors.

Volunteer with Waynesville R-VI
Waynesville R-VI School District welcomes parents/guardians and community members to volunteer in our schools.
To become a volunteer, please download, complete and sign the Volunteer Application and Background Check form at https://aptg.co/7MSvMh.
Completed forms may be returned to your child's school or to the Community Resource Office at Pick Educational and Volunteer Center, 12751 Pulaski Ave., Fort Leonard Wood, MO 65473.
Important Information
An approved background check is required before volunteering, including participating in school field trips.
Background checks may take several weeks or longer to process, so please submit your application as early as possible.
Approved background checks are valid for one year.
You will receive an email reminder approximately one month before your background check expires so you can submit a renewal application.

EZArrival replaces BusQuest and gives you the same real-time bus tracking, delay notifications and transportation updates.
Best of all, your existing account and settings will work automatically in EZArrival; no new registration or additional setup required!

Waynesville R-VI librarians will bring the Tiger Book Express to Waynesville and St. Robert city parks this summer for children in PreK-6th grades to check out free books.
The Tiger Book Express is open to the public and children may check out books for free, listen to guest readers when available, and visit with Waynesville R-VI librarians.

On Friday, May 29, 2026, Waynesville R-VI bus drivers will practice their summer school routes in preparation for the first day of summer school on Monday, June 1, 2026. Parents and community members may notice buses traveling throughout the district as drivers rehearse schedules and routes to help ensure a smooth start to summer school.
There will be no school in the Waynesville R-VI School District on Monday, May 25, 2026, and all offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.
TODAY is the last day of the 2025-26 school year!
Students will be dismissed early on Friday, May 22, 2026, as follows:
- Grades 6-11 will dismiss at noon.
- Full day Pre-K at Parker Educational Center, Freedom Elementary and Pick Educational and Volunteer Center will dismiss at 12:45 p.m.
- Grades K-5 will dismiss at 1 p.m.
Please note: There will be no afternoon session at Williams Early Childhood Center.
