The Waynesville R-VI School District will be running snow routes on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025. When the district runs snow routes in the morning, it will run snow routes in the afternoon.
For bus riders only
The Waynesville R-VI School District sent an email from traveltrackerrouting@app-garden.com with information about both regular routes and snow routes on Jan. 7 to parents of bus riders.

There will be no in-person school in the Waynesville R-VI School District on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025; however, Waynesville R-VI students will attend school virtually this morning as this is an AMI day.
School will be in session using an Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI online) from 8:30 a.m. to noon for grades K-12 and Parker Preschool.
All AMI days begin at 8:30 a.m., including Wednesdays.
Williams Early Childhood Center AM classes will be online from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. and Williams PM classes will be online from 10:15 a.m. to noon.

This month’s #TeacherProudTuesday shout-out goes to Ashley Oliver, a special education teacher at Freedom Elementary. One of her nominators stated, “She has dedicated so much time and effort to helping my son learn and grow and thrive through not one but TWO years of grade school.”

An ambulance was dispatched to Freedom Elementary at approximately 11:40 a.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025), to treat an individual student with a medical condition.
The students' parent/guardian has been notified and will determine what, if any, further medical treatment is necessary.

This year the Waynesville R-VI School District will be presenting the Rising Star and the Support Superstar Awards. The public is invited to nominate individuals for these awards.
The Rising Star Award will be presented to a staff member who is new to the field of education (5 or fewer years of teaching/school experience) and has already demonstrated the ability to have a positive impact on students. The Support Super Star Award will be presented to a staff member that has worked in the school district for at least one year. All elementary schools in the Waynesville R-VI School District were recognized on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, for being named 2025 Best Elementary Schools by U.S. News and World Report during the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education meeting.
East, Freedom, Partridge, Thayer and Wood have earned the 2025 Best Elementary Schools badge, which will be on display in their buildings, along with their "Best of the Best" banners.
The 2025 public elementary rankings were released in November. The schools earned the U.S. News and World Report badge for being among the top 40 percent of all elementary schools in Missouri.


There will be no school in the Waynesville R-VI School District on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.


There will be no school on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, for a teacher in-service day.

The Waynesville R-VI School District will be dismissing school early today (Friday, Dec. 20, 2024) as follows:
· Noon Grades 6-12 dismiss
· 12:45 p.m. Parker dismisses
· 1 p.m. Grades K-5 dismiss
· No afternoon sessions at Williams
There will be no school in the Waynesville R-VI School District on Dec. 23, 2024 – Jan. 3, 2025.
District offices will be closed Dec. 23, 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1.


Two Waynesville R-VI elementary students were recognized for being selected to the All State Children’s Choir by Mike Henson, executive director of elementary instruction, during the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education meeting on Dec. 16, 2024.
Brooklynn Bogucki, a 5th grader at Partridge Elementary, and Trace Boerner, a 5th grader at Freedom Elementary, are two of the 136 4th and 5th graders from across the state who were selected for this honor. #wayschools


The VOICES elementary honor choir performed its winter concert on Dec. 4, 2024, at Freedom Elementary. Waynesville R-VI elementary students in grades 4, 5 and 6 must audition and be selected for the VOICES choir.
Students in this choir dedicate their Wednesday afternoons to learning challenging repertoire and practice a variety of skills, including performance, public speaking, and instrumental performance.
The VOICES choir is under the direction of Vaness Mason. Assistant directors are Keisha Jarrett, Hannah Macarthy, Laura Taylor, Beth Gibson and Amanda JG. The accompanist is Terri Heby. #wayschools








The Freedom Elementary Tiger Choir held its winter holiday concert on Dec. 4, 2024, at Freedom Elementary. Keisha Jarrett, is the director of the Freedom Tiger Choir and is assisted by Courtney Pearson.
Terri Heiby served as the accompanist for the winter concert. Freedom Tiger Choir is open to all 3rd-5th grade students at Freedom and no audition is necessary. Freedom Tiger Choir practices on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:30 a.m. #wayschools
