
Her classroom serves as a model for effective co-teaching in an elementary school. Dailey has presented on co-teaching at the Innovation Summit Conference where she will return for a third consecutive year this summer. She also represents Waynesville Schools as a member of the SRSN Personalized Competency-Based Learning Master Teacher Cadre.
Waynesville R-VI’s District Professional Development Committee designed and implemented the selection process for the Teacher of the Year. Dailey will represent Waynesville in the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's Regional Teacher of the Year process over the summer. The regional winner will represent the region in the Missouri Teacher of the Year process.

Macy Doyle, a teacher at Freedom Elementary, was presented the 3rd Quarter Project Teach Award by Dr. Jamie Goforth, assistant superintendent of personnel services, during the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education meeting on March 23, 2026.
Doyle was recognized for her "Project Wipeboard," an excellent way to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students.
The Project Teach Award comes with a $100 stipend from Personnel Services.

The Waynesville R-VI School District will offer Summer School June 1 - June 29 for students entering grades K-12.
For summer school, students register for the grade level they will ATTEND IN THE FALL.

Waynesville R-VI School District Summer School will be in Session June 1 - June 29. Summer school classes will not be held on Friday, June 19, as we will be observing the Juneteenth holiday.
Both breakfast and lunch will be free during summer school.
For summer school, students attend the grade they will enter in the upcoming 2026-27 school year.
Open enrollment for summer school registration closes on Tuesday, April 7. Registrations received after April 7 will be accepted on a space available basis.
Waynesville Middle School students entering grades 7-8 will be at Waynesville High School for summer school due to cafeteria updates at WMS.
Freedom Elementary students will be at East Elementary for summer school due to HVAC upgrades at Freedom.
Waynesville R-VI will host a Kindergarten Kickoff at 5:30 p.m. on May 4, 2026, in the Waynesville High School Auditorium.
This is for parents of students who will be going into kindergarten this fall. Future kindergartners are welcome to attend as well. Snacks will be provided.

The Waynesville R-VI School District set a record number of achievements in a recent statewide art contest for the MAEA Show Me Art Coloring Book. The following earned recognition:

· 2 special recognition awards (Back Cover Design Winner and 1st Place Middle School)
Waynesville R-VI visual art students contributed to 17 percent of the artwork in the MAEA Show Me Art Coloring Book, Celebrations & Festivals; 6th edition.
Students were asked to research, synthesize and create an engaging line-drawing based on the theme: “Missouri Celebrations and Festivals,” and then write artist statements about their art. The drawings were collected and curated into a 186-page coloring book.

Love of Reading Week is continuing across the Waynesville R-VI School District through Friday, March 6, 2026. Throughout the week, students have enjoyed special visits from guest readers who volunteered their time to share their love of reading.

Waynesville R-VI will host a teacher recruitment event from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, at the Parker Educational Center. The event will begin with a welcome session, followed by screening interviews being held on site. At the end of the evening, a drawing will be held for an iPad.

Mike Henson, executive director of elementary, presented the Freedom Elementary students with certificates for having their artwork selected for the Picture the Music contest, which was hosted by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Their artwork was inspired by a piece of music written by composer Kevin Puts.
The artwork will be on display at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center and will then go on tour to the St. Louis Art Museum and the James S. McDonnell Planetarium. The students will also be honored during the Picture the Music awards ceremony at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center on March 25.

2 Freedom students have artwork selected for the Picture the Music
Two Freedom Elementary students have had their artwork selected for the Picture the Music contest hosted by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
Aiden Brown, a 3rd grader, and John Stephens, a 2nd grader, will be recognized during the Picture the Music awards ceremony at 7 p.m. March 25, 2026, in Powell Hall at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center. Brown’s art teacher is Christina Underwood and Stephens’ art teacher is Carly Crews.
This season, students created artwork inspired by “Codes,” movement II of Contact by SLSO Composer in Residence Kevin Puts, and more than 500 entries were submitted by teachers. From those, 100 finalists were selected. The finalists’ artwork will be displayed at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center from March 20-29. Then, it will go on tour to the St. Louis Art Museum and the James S. McDonnell Planetarium until April 26.
“Congratulations on having your students’ artwork selected for the exhibit!” stated Education Programs Assistant Joseph Hendricks in a letter. “We look forward to honoring them at the newly renovated Powell Hall.”
The SLSO will be performing Kevin Puts’ Contact on March 20 and 22.
