On Friday, March 1, 2024, Waynesville Middle School musicians competed in their annual Music Fest at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. The following students received an Exemplary rating, the best of the day:

Waynesville Middle School hosted their 1st annual STEM night with approximately 150 people attend. Missouri S&T brought information on summer camp opportunities (https://summer.mst.edu/) and displays including a mobile planetarium. WMS teachers hosted additional STEM activities in their classrooms. Student Council members assisted with organizing the event and supporting various STEM activities. #wayschools











The Waynesville Middle School Advanced Choir performed at the Central Methodist University Music Festival in Fayette, Mo., on Friday, March 1, and earned an Exemplary rating, which is the highest rating for a musical performance in Missouri. They received all Exemplary markings from 2 of the 3 judges. Judges comments included, "I think if people heard a recording of you, they would be surprised to find out that you are middle school. SO. GOOD."
They performed the pieces "Ring Out Wild Bells" by Linda Spevacek and "Hands Are Knockin" by Kyle Pederson. They perform next at the Camdenton Middle School Music Festival on April 6. The Waynesville Middle School Advanced Choir is directed by Mr. Dustin Griffin. #wayschools

On behalf of their students, teachers and staff, Waynesville R-VI elementary, middle and high school principals accepted plaques that will be on display in their buildings. The plaques, which recognize each school for being ranked among the top schools in Missouri, were presented during the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education meeting on Feb. 20, 2024. #wayschools

SIAP is a 100% donation-driven program that relies on the generosity of its partners, donors, and community volunteers to continue its mission to feed hungry children and improve educational success.

The main gate (north gate) is now open.
The main gate (north gate) of Fort Leonard Wood is temporarily closed to inbound and outbound traffic. If the temporary closure continues to be in place at dismissal time, bus delays may occur this afternoon, Friday, Feb. 2, 2024.

Members of the community are invited to nominate a Waynesville R-VI School District employee for the Rising Star Award and the Support Superstar Awards.
The Rising Star Award will be presented to a staff member who is new to the field of education (5 or fewer years of teaching/school experience) and has demonstrated the ability to have a positive impact on students. The nominee must be returning to the Waynesville R-VI School District for the 2024-2025 school year. Click on the link below to vote for your Rising Star!

The Support Super Star Award will be presented to a staff member that has worked in the school district for at least one year. Support staff who have already announced their intent to retire or leave the district at the end of the year are not eligible for the award. Any non-certified employee is eligible for this award. An ambulance was dispatched to Waynesville Middle School at approximately 1:50 p.m. today (Jan. 29, 2024) to treat an individual with a medical condition. Police were also dispatched to the scene to assist with the individual. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance for further medical evaluation and treatment. #wayschools
