Waynesville R-VI buses may be delayed this afternoon (Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024) due to traffic being diverted from I-44 onto Historic Route 66.

Patriotic concerts tonight!
East Elementary 4th and 5th graders will perform "What Does It Mean to be American?" on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, at Waynesville High School Auditorium.
- East 4th graders will perform at 5:30 p.m.
- East 5th graders will perform at 7 p.m.
The patriotic concert is based on the book by Elad Yoran and Rana DiOrio.
The concert is free and open to the public. We extend a special invitation to those who are currently serving or have served in the military.

Waynesville High School’s student government association will host a Trunk or Treat event tonight from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the WHS parking lot. #wayschools

Three teachers from East Elementary have been selected to attend the Ron Clark Academy Experience in Atlanta this year through a donation from St. Robert SONIC, which was matched by the SONIC Foundation,
Teachers Haley Jones, Samantha Boeh and Camiel Laurie look forward to the opportunity and the spark it can provide for the students at East Elementary.
Located in Southeast Atlanta, The Ron Clark Academy is a nonprofit school that also serves as a demonstration school, a place where visiting educators engage in professional development. The two-day RCA EXP training is an interactive, immersive learning experience where educators observe classes and participate in dynamic workshops that teach teachers how to ignite a passion for learning, provide meaningful support, encourage academic excellence, foster authentic relationships, and ensure a climate and culture where all students and staff thrive. #wayschools

A false fire alarm sounded at East Elementary at approximately 10:15 a.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024. The fire department has responded out of an abundance of caution to confirm that there is no smoke and there is no fire.
Wear orange for Unity Day tomorrow, Oct. 16, 2024. Send a visible message of building commUNITY through kindness, acceptance and inclusion to prevent bullying.

All active duty service members, Veterans and military retirees with a military ID will be admitted free to the home varsity football game on Oct. 18, 2024, at Tiger stadium. #wayschools

Thank you Pampered Paws Pet Spa for coming to speak to students last week about the Business Career Path and volunteer work with therapy dogs. Students enjoyed learning about what it means to be business owner and meeting each of the therapy dogs!

Waynesville R-VI elementary students who are eligible to participate in Special Olympics were invited to participate in a Kids Fishing Day at Maramec Spring State Park on Oct. 4, 2024. Students toured the museum and the fish hatchery and learned about fishing safety from Missouri Department of Conservation agents. Students also had the opportunity to fish at the springs. #wayschools
