The Waynesville R-VI School District is hosting a teacher recruitment event Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Parker Educational Center. #wayschools
There will be no in-person school in the Waynesville R-VI School District on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025; however, Waynesville R-VI students will attend school virtually on Wednesday morning as this will be an AMI day.
School will be in session using an Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI online) from 8:30 a.m. to noon for grades K-12 and Parker Preschool.
All AMI days begin at 8:30 a.m., including Wednesdays.
Williams Early Childhood Center AM classes will be online from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. and Williams PM classes will be online from 10:15 a.m. to noon.

The Waynesville R-VI School District will be running snow routes on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025. When the district runs snow routes in the morning, it will run snow routes in the afternoon.

The Waynesville R-VI School District sent an email from traveltrackerrouting@app-garden.com with information about both regular routes and snow routes on Jan. 7 to parents of bus riders.

Volunteers, including School Board Members Mike Keeling and Janel Rowell, and School Liaison Officer Bridget Plummer, are serving as guest readers to students in grades PreK-6 as part of the celebration of Love of Reading Week, Feb. 3-7, 2025.
An ambulance was dispatched to East Elementary at approximately 2:35 p.m. today (Feb. 3, 2025) to treat an individual student. A parent/guardian has been contacted and will decide what, if any, further medical treatment is necessary.
East students, grades K-5, had the opportunity to inspect the Nature Path, during Day 0. Thank you to our guest speaker Mr. Dustin Moss, Biologist-Installation Pest Management Coordinator, United States Army Corps Engineers-DPW Natural Resource Branch. The students loved hearing about Biologists and all the neat exploring they do with Nature.

This year the Waynesville R-VI School District will be presenting the Rising Star and the Support Superstar Awards. The public is invited to nominate individuals for these awards.
The Rising Star Award will be presented to a staff member who is new to the field of education (5 or fewer years of teaching/school experience) and has already demonstrated the ability to have a positive impact on students. The Support Super Star Award will be presented to a staff member that has worked in the school district for at least one year. All elementary schools in the Waynesville R-VI School District were recognized on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, for being named 2025 Best Elementary Schools by U.S. News and World Report during the Waynesville R-VI Board of Education meeting.
East, Freedom, Partridge, Thayer and Wood have earned the 2025 Best Elementary Schools badge, which will be on display in their buildings, along with their "Best of the Best" banners.
The 2025 public elementary rankings were released in November. The schools earned the U.S. News and World Report badge for being among the top 40 percent of all elementary schools in Missouri.
There will be no school in the Waynesville R-VI School District on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
There will be no school on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, for a teacher in-service day.
