Secretary of the Board of Education
Dr. LeRoy Fulmer up as an Army Dependent and traveled extensively during his school years. When his father was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, the family liked the area and decided to purchase land and become part of this growing community. He graduated from Waynesville High School in 1967 and attended Missouri State University where he earned a B.S. in Education, a Master's in Secondary Administration and a Specialist Degree. Fulmer ended his educational studies by earning his Ph. D. in Administration. He is an adjunct professor for Drury University.
Fulmer has 32 years of experience in the field of education. He holds a K-12 lifetime teaching certificate and a lifetime secondary administration certificate from Missouri. He has taught at the elementary, middle school and high school levels. While teaching, Fulmer was an assistant football coach, head wrestling and head tennis coach. He has administrative experience as an assistant high school principal and a head middle school principal. During his last 16 years in education, Fulmer served as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. He also was responsible for all Federal Programs and Professional Development.
Fulmer's wife is a retired elementary teacher with a Master's in Education. They have two daughters, both teachers. His son is also attending college and working as a substitute teacher.
