Amodio and Mujahid named Rotary's Students of The Month
Isabella Amodio, an eighth grader, has been named the Waynesville Middle School Rotary Student of the Month for January and was honored Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the monthly Rotary Club meeting.
Amodio, the daughter of Angelo Amodio and Kimberly Amodio, is an ‘A’ student. She is committed to academics and her teachers describe her as being a very diligent student. She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and president of Student Government. Amodio enjoys baton twirling and competitive cheerleading and participates in volleyball and track. In the future Amodio plans to attend college and to become a neurosurgeon.
On the same day, Aminah Mujahid, a senior, was the named Waynesville High School Student of the Month for January. Mujahid has signed to compete in track and cross country at Auora University in Illinois, where she plans to major in sociology. She is a two-time sectional qualifier in the 400 meter in 2016 and the 4x800 in 2015. Mujahid is a class leader who volunteers as a freshman mentor and in the community through the Kiwanis Club. She is in the A+ program and has volunteered in the Special Olympics events at WHS the last three years.
