Waynesville gifted students testify for bill
Waynesville R-VI gifted students are not only learning about government in the classroom, but are participating in the legislative process at Jefferson City.
On April 6, Rachel Slabaugh and Payton Shrum testified on behalf of House Bill 1419. On Feb. 24, Michael O’Donnell and Jonathan Gerspach testified on behalf of Senate Bill 904. The bills focused on gifted education in the state and ultimately passed.
In other gifted education news, Gov. Jay Nixon released $750,000 so that Missouri students selected for the 2016 Missouri Scholars Academy and the Missouri Fine Arts Academy will not have to pay to attend this year.
