Will it sink or will it float?
Kindergarten students in Jessica Maddox’s class and students in Amy Weigelt’s special education class at East Elementary collaborated on a science investigation called “Will it sink? What do you think?” Students discussed and then came up with a hypothesis on whether a plastic Easter egg would sink or float if it was empty or filled with a jellybean, a carrot, a marble or a penny. The students made predictions, explained their choices, then tested their hypothesis. The students also observed Easter peeps after an hour of being in a cup of water, soda and vinegar.
