Western Welding Academy Blue Collar Tour visits Waynesville Career Center
Waynesville Career Center partnered with the Blue Collar Tour this morning, Feb. 17, 2023, to demonstrate the importance and worldwide need of employees in #BlueCollar industries. Students participated in giveaways and a live welding demonstration after being spoken to about the shortage of workers in all different types of blue collar positions.
"This has been a great opportunity for our career center students to hear directly from those in their industry," said Sam Callis, director of Waynesville Career Center. "Nathan Ponder, an Iberia High School graduate who attended Waynesville Career Center (formerly WTA) is a part of the tour exemplifying that our career and technical courses produce high quality workers."
Ponder was especially excited to see his Waynesville welding instructor Alex Neuman (who has since retired) make an appearance to show his continued support.
