Students to teach parents about
avoiding social media drama and more
Waynesville R-VI parents whose children have cell phones are encouraged to attend the Tiger Pride Session on social media from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at the Waynesville Middle School Library.
The presenters will be Waynesville Middle School students who will share tactics that students and parents can use to minimize drama on social media. WMS students have been participating in the #ICanHelp program this year, which challenges students to think about the impact that a potential post might have on another student.
The details:

During the session, parents will learn:

n learn how to monitor their child's social media, technology devices, and digital wellness
Students will learn:
n about appropriate social media use, including posting appropriate comments
n how to report inappropriate social media use
n how to block inappropriate people
n how to stop negative talk with positive talk (in terms that students can easily use)
