Mia Verry, a Waynesville High School sophomore, earned 1st Place overall in the 9th-10th grade category in the Student Showcase at the Missouri Art Education Association Spring State Conference in Springfield, Mo., that was held March 23-25, 2023. Each of the more than 300 art teachers in attendance could bring up to eight 4x6-sized artworks to showcase their students' work. Verry is a member of the WHS Art Club and the National Art Honor Society.
