1. Is there an after-school bus to transport my child home after practice?
1 a. Yes, an activity bus will run at 5:45 p.m. following the completion of practices.
 
 
 
2. Will my student-athlete receive an after-school snack before practice?
2 a. Yes, all students who stay after school on a regular basis receive an after-school super snack.
 
 
 
3. Is there a program to help athletes academically?
3 a. Yes, W.I.N. time (Academic Support) will begin directly after school every Monday and Wednesday for all athletes.
 
 
 
4. What does it cost for my child to participate in athletics?
4a. An annual athletic participation fee of $25.00 will be charged for the 2021-2022 school year. If a family has more than one child participating, the following rate schedule will apply:
 
$25.00 for the first child
 
$15.00 for the second child
 
$10.00 for each additional child
 
 
 
5. As a parent, what am I required to do?
5 a. All 7th grade, 9th grade and new student-athletes to the Waynesville R-VI School District and their parents are required to view the virtual video regarding MSHSAA, NCAA, Waynesville R-VI School and Athletic Department guidelines and policies for the 2021-22 school year. Verifying you and your 7th grade, 9th grade or new student have watched and understand all of the information included is mandatory for participation. This video will need to be viewed before the athlete can compete in the first game, match, or contest. The information concerns eligibility, sportsmanship, the student-athlete code of conduct, and parent-coach communication. The link will be provided to parents at a later date.
 
 
 
6. Are there academic eligibility requirements?
6a. Yes, to participate, a student must attend school in the seated classroom and:
 
* have earned during the preceding semester of attendance, a minimum of 3.00 units of credit or have earned credit in 80% of the maximum allowable classes in which any student can be enrolled in the semester, whichever is greater.
 
* be enrolled in the current semester and regularly attending courses that offer 3.0 units of credit or 80% of the maximum allowable credits which may be earned, whichever is greater.
 
* not have earned an F. Waynesville has a no F Policy. High school students will not be eligible if they fail a course the previous semester. Credits earned or completed after the close of the semester will not fulfill this requirement. Middle school eligibility will be determined using 6-week progress reports.
 
* not drop courses without first consulting with the school principal or athletic administrator to determine whether it will affect eligibility
 
 
 
7. Is an annual sports physical required? If so, is there a way that I can get one done for free for my student-athlete?
7a. Yes, students participating in sports, Raiders, or band at Waynesville High School or Waynesville Middle School for the 2021-22 seasons will use the MSHSAA Physical Form. The MSHSAA physical evaluation form is at https://waynesvilletigerathletics.org/library/files/demo1069.bigteamsdemo_com_1743/files/MSHSAA%20Physical%20and%20Pre-Participation%20Forms.pdf. Please note that the Waynesville R-VI School District requires a new physical every single year.
 
8. All athletes must have a physical dated after Feb. 1, 2021, on file at the athletic office before the first day of practice. Middle school athletes should turn their physical forms into the nurse at the middle school. A parent signature will be needed on the physical form or a parent must be present for the exam.
8a. Free physicals are donated by Mercy Clinic in St. Robert and will be performed at Mercy Clinic in St. Robert from 5:00 p.m.– 6:30 p.m. on these days:
- Tuesday, Aug. 3 for last names beginning with A-H
 
- Wednesday, Aug. 4 for last names beginning with I-P
 
- Thursday, Aug. 5 for last names beginning with Q-Z
 
In order to comply with social distancing at Mercy: you will check in, be screened, give them your cell phone number and return to your vehicle or parking lot to wait until they call you to come in for your physical.
 
8.b. Free sports physicals will also be done by the Waynesville School Based Health Clinic & Central Ozarks Medical Center at the Waynesville High School on Aug. 9 & 10 by appointment only. To make an appointment, call 573-842-2164.
 
Note: High school students will not be allowed to start high school sports on Aug. 9 without a current physical (dated after Feb. 1, 2021) on file in the athletic office. Middle school students will not be allowed to start middle school sports on Aug. 16 without a current physical on file with the nurse at the middle school.
 
 
 
9. How do I purchase tickets to games?

10. Is there a way that I can get automatic updates regarding game cancellations, connect the game dates to my calendar, etc.?
10 a. Yes, you may create an account on the Waynesville Athletic website to follow your son(s)/daughter(s) athletic teams. Go to www.waynesvilletigerathletics.org and create a login by clicking on the upper right-hand corner, then choose teams to follow.
