The Waynesville High School girls basketball team recognized their senior players on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, during their first home game of the season.
The seniors are Toni Durrant, Naudia Evans, Astacia Garcia, Chambre Garcia and Asia Morgan. The team also recognized senior Danisha Bost, manager.
WHS won the game 50 to 36 against the Newburg Wolves. Naudia Evans scored her 1,000th point during the game and is now at 1,005 points in her high school career.
“It is good to get the first game under our belt,” said Head Coach Brittany Mattlock. “It was a great night for both groups. We had lots of energy on the floor and bench. Do we still have things to work on? Yes, but we're going to enjoy this and be back to work tomorrow.”
The WHS team also recognized the Newburg seniors: Adriauna Williams, Macy Suschanke and Marah Suschanke.
