Softball Opens Home Schedule with Senior Night

By Nia Williamson, Sports Information Class

Sept. 6--Waynesville Softball will host senior night after playing Lebanon on Sept. 8 at 4:30 p.m. at the Home of the Tigers. This senior night will be the first game against Lebanon this year of 2020 after the win of Conference and the loss at district.

”Very confident,” Head Coach Rochelle Maubach said of the upcoming game.  “We have great players this year and amazing pitchers. The other teams should be afraid.”

Senior night recognition will be held at approximately 6 p.m. following the varsity game. This senior night was pushed up to Sept. 8 in case the season is shortened or cancelled due to Covid-19.

Infielder Mea Williams says she’s very excited.  “We are playing against some of my traveling team friends,” Williams said.   “I'm confident my team is strong and will be hard to beat. Lebanon is good, but we have the skills to beat them.”
