The details

The Waynesville R-VI School District will offer meal delivery service on special food distribution bus routes on Mondays through Fridays on March 23-April 3, 2020. Both breakfast and lunch will be delivered at once and your children will not need to be with you in order for you to pick up their meals.

Please check out the routes at https://www.waynesville.k12.mo.us/cms/lib/MO01910216/Centricity/Domain/924/Food Distribution Routes 2020.pdf.  These routes are based on an approximate combination of A, B and special education bus stops, so please check for the stop that is closest to you.  If you are unable to locate your route, please call Transportation at 573-842-2199 for one-on-one assistance.  All times are estimates only; the goal is to deliver the food between 7:45 and 9 a.m.  Regardless of where your children attend school or where you live in the district, you may go to any special food distribution bus route stop.

Children ages 0 to 18 may receive the free meals at the bus stops, along with qualified disabled adults. There are no income guidelines for the free meals. Even if your children do not usually ride the bus, they should get their meals from the special food distribution bus routes. Snack in a Pack will be delivered on the buses on Friday, along with the meals. Students are asked to practice social distancing while waiting for the special food distribution bus.

If your family misses the special food distribution bus, you may go to the bus or serving station that will be parked at one of four schools:

n  Wood Elementary on Fort Leonard Wood

n  Partridge Elementary on Fort Leonard Wood

n  Freedom Elementary in St. Robert

n  Waynesville High School in Waynesville.

These FOUR schools will each have a bus or serving station on site. There will be no other remote site locations or other schools offering this service. The meals will be available at the four schools from the buses or serving stations from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m.

If a member of your family has food allergies, please call the Waynesville R-VI Community Resource Office at 573-842-2250 to make special arrangements.

Please note that these are the district’s plans of today, Friday, March 20, 2020, and that as the COVID-19 situation evolves, we may need to make adjustments. In the event that adjustments are needed, the district will notify you.

This temporary program is being made possible through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and in partnership with OPAA!  These meals will include all five food groups and milk, per accordance to state guidelines.  Eligible disabled adults* over age 18 may also receive free meals at the special food distribution bus route stops and/or the four schools.

The district has received a special waiver to implement the SFSP during this closure; however, all meals will be “grab and go” to eliminate large groups of people in one area.  All are asked to practice social distancing.
