No injuries reported in bus accident

No injuries were immediately reported following an accident involving Bus Route 71 at approximately 4 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, near Wee Wonders Preschool and Learning Center on Long Drive in Waynesville.

The accident occurred when the bus backed up and came into contact with a tree. The bus was carrying nine students at the time. Another bus has been dispatched and will deliver the remaining students home.

Parents of the nine students are being contacted.
