WHS celebrates Military Appreciation Night
Waynesville High School celebrated Military Appreciation Night on Friday, Oct. 25, before and during the varsity football game at Tiger Stadium.
The high school’s Partners in Education – the 787th Military Police Battalion and the 3-10th Infantry Battalion—participated in the event, including forming a tunnel for the WHS Tiger football team to walk through just before the start of the game. Sgt. 1st Class Felicia S. Mitchell sang the National Anthem.
In recognition of the great relationship between Fort Leonard Wood and the Waynesville R-VI School district, Lt. Col. William Earl from 3-10th Infantry Battalion, Capt. De’Angelo Criss and 1st Sgt. Adam Wright of the 787th Military Police Battalion at Fort Leonard Wood joined the team captains to participate in the ceremonial coin toss on the 50-yard line.
