WayConnect mentors needed to expand program
Volunteers are needed to mentor one student 30 minutes each week for one semester through the district’s WayConnect program.
The goal of the program is to connect students with community volunteers once each week during regular school hours. Mentors meet with the students at the school of their choice and receive training.
Mentors are needed at East Elementary, Freedom Elementary, Waynesville Sixth Grade Center and Waynesville Middle School.
To begin the process, volunteers must complete a volunteer application form, which is available at https://www.waynesville.k12.
Freedom Elementary piloted the program during the 2019-20 school year and a brochure about their program is available at https://drive.google.com/file/
For more information, please contact Courtney Long, director of community resources and grant management at clong@waynesville.k12.mo.us or call her at 573-842-2250.
