False alarm sounds at Waynesville Sixth Grade Center

The fire department was called to the Waynesville Sixth Grade Center at approximately 11:35 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, in response to an alarm sounding.

“No fire or smoke was initially detected, but the fire department will complete a walk through to confirm that everything is clear,” said Michele Sumter, director of student services and the district’s safety officer.
