Bus drivers wanted for Waynesville R-VI students

The Waynesville R-VI School District is hiring both substitute and regular drivers.

Regular drivers work an average of 20 to 30 hours a week, depending on their routes and the number of field trips and athletic events they sign up to make.

“If people are looking for a way to give back to the community, driving a bus is one way to do it,” said Karl Wilking, director of transportation. “A driver plays such an important role in a child’s education; children have to get to school so they can learn.”

On-the-job paid training starts at $13.43 an hour and starting driver pay starts at $15.19 an hour for the 2019-20 school year.
