FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- When is the first day of school?
- Aug. 14. It will not be a late-start Wednesday. The remaining Wednesdays will each start 30 minutes later than on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
- Why is Meet the Teacher Night held the day AFTER school starts for students in grades 7-12?
- Students in grades 7-12 are expected to take a more active role in their education and will escort their parents to their classrooms on Aug. 15. (We will be there to help on the first day of school.)
- How do you help students in grades 9 – 12 transition to the high school?
- Freshman Transition Day (for all students entering the 9th grade) and New Student Transition Day (new students to the district who will be entering 10th -12th grades) will be held Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Waynesville High School. All freshmen and new students in grades 10-12 will tour the school, meet their mentors, participate in fun activities, etc. Limited bus routes will be provided for freshmen and new students on Tuesday, Aug. 6, so they may attend the transition day. The routes are listed at https://www.waynesville.k12.mo.us/Page/10459. Parents of freshmen and new high school students are invited to a parent breakfast from 8:30 to 9 a.m. that same day in the high school cafeteria.
