School meal prices to increase by 10 cents

School meal prices to increase by 10 cents

Based on the Paid Lunch Equity Tool from Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), the Waynesville R-VI School District will increase its prices .10 for each breakfast and lunch starting in the 2019-20 school year.

“We understand that the extra 10 cents on every meal can impact a family’s budget, so I strongly encourage every family to complete the free and reduced meals form,” said Dr. Brian Henry, superintendent. “Because of the number of families who qualify for free and reduced meals, we are able to offer free breakfast to all students at nearly all of our schools and that’s a bonus for everyone.”

The free and reduced meals form will be available at enrollment and Meet the Teacher nights. Specific instructions will be included in the packet to help military families complete the forms, as federal guidelines dictate when housing allowances are included in the income section and when they are not.

The required increases will result in the following:

Lunch Price Increase 2019-20

K – 8th Lunch - $2.10

High School 9th-12th Lunch - $2.30
