WHS grad Juwan Morgan inks deal with Utah Jazz

Waynesville High School graduate Juwan Morgan has signed a rookie free agent contract with the NBA Utah Jazz.

"Our community is excited for Juwan and his family. Juwan was a great teammate and school leader at Waynesville High School,” said Chris Pilz, Waynesville High School’s head boys basketball coach. “Early on in his high school career, I sat down with Juwan and his parents to illustrate a vision of playing basketball at the highest level. Today the vision has become a little clearer. He is humble, hungry and a fierce competitor. Juwan is a high character kid who is extremely coachable. He has a high IQ in the classroom and on the court. It's awesome to see a kid get an opportunity to chase his dream. The NBA and the Jazz will be well represented by Juwan Morgan."

While at WHS, he was a member of the #1 state-ranked Class 5A team his junior year and was twice the Ozark Conference MVP and a two-time Missouri All State Selection..

Local fans have followed Morgan’s career with Indiana University. Morgan’s name will have a lasting place throughout the IU record books. His IU career stats include:
