Scott named WHS Student of Month for May

Charlize Scott, a senior at Waynesville High School, has been named the Waynesville High School Rotary Student of the Month for May. She received a plaque and recognition during the Rotary Club of Pulaski County’s meeting on May 14, 2019.

Maria Butler, her nominator, said, “For the past 2 years I have had the pleasure of being Charlize’s ELA 11 teacher and have her as my A+ tutor. She has always been honest and straight forward.  As an A+ tutor she has taken the time to understand each student. No matter what type of disability they have, she shows such poise, composure and patience. She does not hesitate to walk over and help them. If there is a substitute in my classroom, I don’t have to worry. Charlize is there to address any issue and will make sure all items are discussed. She is always prepared and as a student she strived to make sure her work was completed and done correctly. When discussing issues, she is able to give her point and listen to others’ points of view.  I am very proud to watch her grow as a student and mentor to my students. She is always willing to give me an honest opinion on lessons and what she thinks the students would benefit from. Her words are always proper and kind. Her integrity is above and beyond. I greatly appreciate all that she does and continues to do in my classroom. She will be highly successful.”
