Drill team takes 2ndHandley takes 1st

 

The Waynesville Tiger Battalion Drill Team took 2nd place overall in the Armed Division and a WHS cadet took 1stplace in IDD at the Blue Springs South Invitational Drill Classic on March 2, 2019.

 

Molly Handley, a senior, took 1st overall in the Individual Drill Down (IDD) out of more than 300 cadets; Paiton Quinones was 4th overall and Zachary Gorenflo was 8th overall.

 

The team finished second in the Armed Division out of 28 teams from Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. The event results are as follows:

 

- 1st Place Armed Color Guard, led by Paiton Quinones.

 

- 1st Place Armed Inspection, led by Victor Peralta.

 

- 2nd Place Armed Exhibition, led by Ben Pollman.

 

- 4th Place in Armed Regulation, led by Molly Handley.

Next up are the U.S. Army Cadet Command Drill National Championships in Richmond, Va., on March 28-31, 2019.
