WHS girls swim team competes in meet

 

The Waynesville High School girls swim team competed in Southwest Missouri on Feb. 2. Relay Team A (Melanie McQueen, Louisa-Marie Veeck, Makaila Duncan and Sophia Shipley-Johnson) placed 14th in the 200 IM and 16th in the 200 Free. Makaila Duncan placed 9th in the 50 free and 13th in the 100 Free. Sophia Shipley-Johnson placed 12 in the 50 Free and 14 in the 100 Free. 

 

Combined, the boys and girls high school swim team had six athletes on the A honor roll and 11 on the A/B honor roll for a total of 17 out of 23 swimmers making honor roll.  

 

This is the first year for swimming in the Waynesville R-VI School District. Swimmers use Davidson Fitness Center’s pool throughout a partnership with Fort Leonard Wood.
