Mrs. Gail Edie

Hello,

My name is Gail Edie and I have been a Speech Language Pathologist for 15 years.  I love working with the kids and seeing their successes in speech class.  My husband David, has retired from the military after 22 years of service.  We have lived in several different states throughout the south.  We have three children; Dar, Lindsey and Casey.  Since the kids have moved out we now have  three dogs to keep us busy; Scout, Hondo and Boo.  We enjoy living in the Waynesville area and have happily made it our home.

Speech is well underway.  Some things you can do to help your student be successful in speech class are:

Help them review their homework:

Each student should have a two pocket, three prong folder for their speech homework.  If they bring me homework completed, they receive a homework ticket for our prize drawing at the end of the month.  They also receive new homework to do.  Please check those folders since they should be in your child's backpack.

Review the vocabulary words:  (posted on this web site)

If a child is working on certain sounds, encourage them to practice saying that sound.  Having them listen to stories that contain their speech sound is important.  Read outloud to them so they can hear their sound.  Have them read out lout to themself.

Progress notes for third quarter went home.  Remind your child to take their speech folder to class.

A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS MADE DONATIONS TO THE SPEECH PROGRAM.
