I am thrilled to begin this new chapter as a Waynesville Tiger! My teaching journey began 19 years ago in the high desert of California,  where I spent nine years teaching  6th grade and multi grade level special education.   As a proud military spouse, I’ve had the unique opportunity to teach across the country — from 5th grade in Colorado to 2nd grade in Texas, and middle school special education in both New York and California. Most recently, I served as the principal at Fort Irwin Middle School, an experience that deepened my passion for leadership and student success.

When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me off-roading with my husband and son, working out at the gym, on the sidelines cheering (or coaching!) one of my son’s many sports, or simply curled up with a good book. I’m passionate about education, adventure, and helping students reach their full potential — and I can’t wait to see what this year holds!

Welcome!

I am currently in my second year as the Assistant Principal at Waynesville Middle School. I am a product of the Waynesville School District, having attended from Kindergarten through my senior year at Waynesville High School. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to serve in various educational roles, including as a paraprofessional at Wood Elementary, an elementary teacher in both regular and co-teaching environments at Freedom Elementary, and an intern administrator at East Elementary. I strive to be a servant leader by focusing on building positive relationships with all stakeholders and ensuring clear communication throughout the organization.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. We enjoy going on beautiful adventures, indoor and outdoor games, and having movie nights together. I believe in the power of connection, and I encourage anyone to reach out to me with any concerns or celebrations.
