Welcome to WSGC Nurse Page
My name is Shiloh Smith, I have been married to my husband Justin for 23yrs and we have 3 beautiful and smart loving children. I been a nurse since 2000 and worked in geriatrics, hospital setting and school nursing. I currently been with the district since 2009 and started that journey over at Freedom Elementary. I currently transferred to the WSGC in Oct of 2020.
I believe that as a school nurse our main role is to make sure our students are healthy to be educated. I feel students need to be in class as much as possible to get the education they are needing to become part of the adult society. If at any time you have concerns with your childs medical issues please email or call me. I have an open door policy for students, staff and parents. I want to make sure that you know your child is in good hands while at school. Please don't hesitate to contact me at any time.
Just a few things to review
1. Make sure you access your parent portal via Tyler and complete your childs Student Medical form yearly. This form must be on file in order to give OTC medications and this is how we update medical concerns about your child.
2. ALL MEDICATIONS must be brought in by a parent or guardian in its original container. This is our District policy. Please do not send medication to school with your child.
3. If your child is not feeling well and is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, FLU, Vomiting, Diarrhea or Fever do not send your child to school. Please call the office to let them now of why your child is absent. We have new policies and procedures for the 20/21yr school year for Fever....they must be out 72hrs after fever has broke without use of medication. Medical referrals are being completed if you child has 2 or more symptoms of COVID-19 to be cleared to return to school. When the policy and procedures change this will be updated.
Lets have a great year!!!
