Mrs. Amy Weigelt

Hi! My name is Amy Weigelt! Like many of you, I am a mother, a community member, and spouse. I have four children; Madison is 18 and is a senior at the high school.  She is involved in cheerleading and Student Government Association. Brayden is 12 and is a seventh grader at the middle school. He is in LEAP, is involved in Student Council and plays soccer and baseball.   Brooklynn is 8 and is in third grade at East.  She is very outgoing and bubbly and also is also in soccer. Owen is six and is my youngest. He is spunky and full of energy. He is in kindergarten at East and is also a soccer player.  My husband Zach is an engineer in the Army. He is in stationed at Camp Shelby, Mississippi.  He enjoys hunting, playing soccer and Chiefs football. We also have two cats Phoenix and Stormie and a fish named Ocean. I am originally from Nebraska, but love calling Missouri my home.

I am in my 8th year of teaching in the Waynesville School District. This is my 14th year teaching Special Education.  I have had experience teaching Pre-K Special Education, high school life/work skills, ID/Autism, and LD. I have also worked in group homes for adults and children with disabilities. I studied Elementary and Special Education at Doane University in Crete, Nebraska where I also played soccer. I enjoy helping students be successful, both academically and socially and strive to meet the individual needs of all students! I am so excited for year full of learning and growth and for our students to shine like the stars they are!
