Welcome! My name is Elaine Cole, and I am very excited to be teaching second grade at Freedom Elementary. This is my 23rd year teaching and my 18th year at Waynesville. I taught two years in 3rd grade and 14 years in 1st grade before moving to second grade. This is my 7th year teaching second grade, and I love it! I graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield with my Bachelors in Elementary Education and my Masters in Education in Reading.
Let me tell you a little about myself and my family. My husband and I have two girls. We also have two little dogs and a cat! In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, shopping, watching basketball, taking walks and hiking, and spending time with my family. I love the beach, seafood and Mexican, and Christmas!
I am excited to begin a new year of learning in second grade! It is my goal to make this a fun and exciting year for all my students. I want to help my students learn habits that will make them successful leaders and become more fluent in reading, writing, and math. I hope to instill a love of reading that will last a lifetime. I can't wait to see how much each student will grow this year!
