Ms. Janet Lynn Roach

Hello! Welcome to my homepage.  My name is Janet Roach, and I teach Freshmen English and Forensic Debate at Waynesville High School. I look forward to working with students and parents in order to make student achievement and growth a reality. 

I grew up in McDonald County Missouri and pursued my bachelor degrees in English and History at the University of Arkansas. Following my bachelor's degrees, I completed a master's degree in English at Kansas State University. Finally, my terminal degree is a master's of fine arts from the University of Iowa's Writers' Workshop.

I am an avid writer and reader and spend a good deal of my time with pen or book in hand. Among other projects, I am working on a novel. I write everyday, and I know the perils of a blank page. In short, I understand the frustration that may accompany writing or learning any new task or concept. I feel it is important for a teacher to compassionatelly understand what it is ike to sit on the other side of the desk as a student and learner. 

I am thrilled to be a teacher at Waynesville High School, and I look forward to meeting both students and parents. Parent and student participation is essential for success in the classroom. Please know I am here to help, and if you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
