Mrs. Amanda Mejias

Hi! My name is Amanda Mejias. This is my 11th year in education but 7th year being a school counselor. I am a military brat and moved a lot while I was younger, however, Texas is where I call home. I graduated from Killeen High School in 2006 and then went to the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with my Bachelors degree in Biology in 2010. I was a biology teacher for 3 years. While teaching, I attained my Master's degree in School Counseling in 2014. I was a school counselor for 6 years before moving to Missouri.

I met my husband Nelson in Texas and we got married in 2018. He is currently serving as a drill sergeant stationed here at Fort Leonard Wood. We have two children- Alejandra who is 4 years old, and Austin who is 2 years old. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my kids, working out, and hanging out with friends.

I have enjoyed being a school counselor here at Waynesville High School. My main goal is to make sure all students receive a successful education while also helping them mentally and emotionally. I also enjoy helping students find their paths after high school and figuring out their strengths to tackle on the real world.
