I am so excited to be a part of the East Elementary family! I began teaching in the public education system in 2015 at Fulton Middle School. Prior to teaching in the public school system, I worked as adjunct professor of voice, choir, and music appreciation at Chipola College (Marianna, FL), and as a visiting professor at Florida State University. Graduate teaching experiences include terms at Florida State University and University of Missouri. While teaching in higher education, I also began performing professionally as an opera singer. In addition to teaching and performing, I have been active as a choral conductor and voice clinician offering masterclasses, and voice lessons.
My passion is helping all learners unlock their potential as singers, musicians, and expressive performers. Helping students connect music with emotion, and introducing listeners to new genres of music are central to my teaching.
Matt, my husband, and our children, Harrison and Melody, are delighted to be part of the community. We enjoy traveling, reading, swimming, and playing with our dogs, Freya and Cora.
