Ms. Willow Derbidge
Welcome to Waynesville High School! I am looking forward to the coming school year and teaching my students! I am the mother of two fantastic children and worked full time while continuing my education. I received my Associate Degree in General Studies from Glendale Community College in 2008. Following this I went to the University of California, Riverside (UCR) where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. UCR is recognized for being the most diverse of the UC schools. While in attendance there, I worked with the disabilities center as a member of a Disability Advocacy speaking panel and had the opportunity to study abroad in Taipei, Taiwan. These experiences were amazing for my professional and personal growth.
Upon graduation, my family moved to Missouri. I decided to go back to school and go into the field of Education. I became a certified teacher in 2015 and earned a Masters Degree in Special Education from Missouri State University in 2016. I can identify with many of our students as I have lived in several states and have spent time overseas. The thing I love most about teaching is building relationships and seeing students perform well and do better than they thought they could. I love working with our diverse community here! It fills my heart with joy! Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions or concerns. Go Tigers!
