Dr. Raquel DeSouza
Dear Parents and Students,
My name is Dr. Raquel DeSouza, and I would like to introduce myself to you. First of all, it is an honor to be your librarian.
I have always loved learning; my parents have taught me that “what you learn, no one can ever take away from you.”This is my motto for life.
Learn something new every day.
I have a bachelor's degree in biology. A master's degree in elementary education and a doctorate degree in reading and literacy and I have been working in education since 2008.
I believe in public education and I believe every child can learn.
I believe if you don't like reading is because you haven't found a book you enjoy, YET!
I am here to listen and to help you find books and resources to answer all your questions.
I speak English, Portuguese, and Spanish fluently (written and spoken).
I believe in strengthening skills that will be the foundation for education while allowing students to be creative and bring their uniqueness and talents to the classroom.
In our library students are held to high expectations. I will expect students to be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe learners at all times.
Again, I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve you this school year, and remember we are a team.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Together we achieve more.
Dr. DeSouza
