Ms. Leighanne Phipps

Welcome to WSGC! My name is Leighanne Phipps and I am incredibly excited to be teaching math to your child!  In my classroom, I will ensure that every student feels valued and important. It has been my experience that when students feel important, and trust their teacher, they are more motivated to excel not only academically but emotionally. Every student will have the opportunity to learn and grow in my classroom. A wise teacher once said to me and I have adopted it as part of my philosophy, “If the students can’t learn the way I teach, then I will teach the way they learn.”

I have recently graduated from Missouri State University where I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Middle School Math and English Language Arts. Prior to coming to WSGC, I worked as a paraprofessional for the Lebanon R-3 school District for 4 years, as well as coached the High School Cheer team.

I was born and raised in Lebanon, MO and currently reside there with my other half, Kirk, our two children, and our adorable golden retriever, Gibson. Our daughter, Tyleigh, is in 7th grade and our son Josiah, is in 4th grade. They definitely keep me busy, but some hobbies I enjoy are reading, shopping, attending concerts, sporting events, and spending time with family and friends.

I look forward to getting to know your student, supporting them in their learning, and making this experience as fun and enjoyable as possible! It is my mission to instill a love for learning in all of my students.  If any of you have questions, concerns, or think there is anything I need to be aware of, please feel free to contact me at school or through email. My contact information is listed here. As a parent myself, I do believe it is very important to keep the communication open between us and I would love to talk to you whenever you feel the need, I look forward to a great year! Go Tigers!
