BS in Elementary Education Emphasis in Math and English Language Arts

Mrs. Leighanne Easley

Welcome to WSGC! My name is Leighanne Easley and I am incredibly excited to be teaching math to your child!  In my classroom, I will ensure that every student feels valued and important. It has been my experience that when students feel important, and trust their teacher, they are more motivated to excel not only academically but emotionally. Every student will have the opportunity to learn and grow in my classroom. A wise teacher once said to me, “If the students can’t learn the way I teach, then I will teach the way they learn.” and I have adopted that as my philosophy.

This is my 4th year teaching at the Sixth Grade Center. I graduated from Missouri State University in 2018 where I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Middle School Math and English Language Arts. Prior to coming to WSGC, I worked as a paraprofessional for the Lebanon R-3 school District for 5 years, as well as coached the High School Cheer team.

I was born and raised in Lebanon, MO and I still live there. My husband, Kirk, have been married for almost 2 years! We celebrated our honeymoon in Gatlinburg enjoying the mountains, and it was absolutely wonderful! We have two kiddos. Our daughter, Tyleigh, is a sophmore in High-School!  She loves cheerleading, playing the flute, and spending time with her friends. Our son, Josiah, is in 7th grade! He loves playing baseball, basketball, x-box, and hanging out with friends. We also have two adorable dogs. Gibson, a golden retriever, and Boomer, a sheltie. Our family stays pretty busy, but some hobbies we enjoy are family vacations, shopping (well Tyleigh and I), attending concerts, sporting events, family game night,  and spending time with our family and friends.

I look forward to getting to know your student, supporting them in their learning, and making this experience as fun and enjoyable as possible! It is my mission to instill a love for learning in all of my students.  If any of you have questions, concerns, or think there is anything I need to be aware of, please feel free to contact me at school or through email. My contact information is listed here. As a parent myself, I do believe it is very important to keep the communication open between us and I would love to talk to you whenever you feel the need, I look forward to a great year! Go Tigers!
