Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Fifth Grade! We have a very busy and exciting year in store for us! A little introduction, my name is Christine Johnson. I am a military spouse. I have two kiddos, Sophia is in high school and Sam is in middle school. I have been teaching since 1992. I have taught Kindergarten-Fifth grade in U.S. schools as well as International Schools in Germany and South Korea. I consider myself truly fortunate to have had an amazing teaching career so far and I am excited for this year ahead!
As an educator, I am committed to an inquiry-based approach of questioning, exploration and discovery. This teaching approach enables students to meet the challenges of the future by becoming creative problem solvers.
“Teach a child facts and you have given her knowledge.
Teach a child to think and you have given her wisdom.”
Teaching is an art that requires a loving commitment to connect to each child and their family. When we think back to our school days it is the teacher we remember along with the special hands-on events we participated in. It is people, relationships, and connections we remember best. Teaching your child is a privilege that I am honored to have. It is also a tremendous responsibility. It is my goal to help each child reach his or her full potential. Working together we can make learning happen everyday in a special way. I look forward to getting to know all my students and their families. It is going to be a fantastic learning year!
