    Dear East Elementary Families,

It is my pleasure and honor to introduce myself as the principal of East Elementary. I am extremely proud and excited to join this K-5 school community and to support our students and families. The 2022-2023 school year begins my 27th year in the Waynesville R-VI School District. I began my career in Waynesville by teaching Behavior Disorders for 2 years and 2nd grade for 8 years at East Elementary, 4th grade for 2 years, Technology Integration for 8 years, and was an Assistant Principal for 4 years at Freedom Elementary, and the Principal at Partridge Elementary for 2 years. Prior to working in Waynesville, I spent one-year teaching in St. James, MO at Boys and Girls Town.

Like you, I am a parent as well. I have three children. All three of my children have graduated from the Waynesville School District. I am proud and happy to continue serving the families of this community.

I view education as a lifelong process, and I will continue to learn much about our special building of East Elementary this year and in the years to come. Most importantly, I bring a belief that the students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to bring my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to the collaboration and support we will be able to give each other.

I am here to make every effort to help your child reach his/her fullest potential. I vow to give my all to our students, and I will request the same efforts from our staff and school community. Together we will continue to move East Elementary School students through a rich learning environment guided with love and support toward a bright future as leaders and learners.
