Hello! I am very excited to be your child's 5th Grade Teacher at Freedom Elementary this year. This will be my eighteenth year teaching elementary students. I began my educational career teaching 2nd grade at East Elementary here in Waynesville. I taught Gifted Education for seven years in the Iberia and Camdenton School Districts. I am thrilled to be home in the Waynesville School District!
I live in Waynesville with my husband, Jason, who teaches Agriculture at WCC, and my two sons, Logan and Garrett. Both of my children enjoy playing soccer, and I love being a "Soccer Mom." My oldest son, Logan, is a graduate of WHS, and is currently a junior at MSU majoring in Physical Therapy. My youngest son, Garrett, is a Freshman this year at WHS. I also have a Boston Terrier named Otis, a Heinz 57 named Roxy, and a calico cat named Reggie.
When I am not watching Garrett play soccer, or helping my husband coach one of our many youth soccer teams or running our indoor soccer facility, I enjoy running. I have run several 5Ks and one 10K over the past few years. I am hoping to work my way up to a Half-Marathon by the spring! I also enjoy reading and riding horses.
I am looking forward to this school year and working with you and your student!
