• American Government

    American Government is a year-long course designed to give the student a knowledge of the major components that make up the American governing system, a historical perspective of its development, and the role, structure, and functioning of the three branches of government. They will also examine important components of the civil rights system, forms of state and local governments, and comparative political and economic systems of government. This course is designed to meet three mandated graduation requirements.

    The major areas of concentration include the structures, responsibilities, and obligations of the federal and state level of government as outlined in the U.S. and State constitutions.
