Welcome! My name is Elaine Cole, and I am very excited to be teaching second grade at Freedom Elementary. This is my 21st year teaching and my 16th year at Waynesville. I have taught two years in 3rd grade and 14 years in 1st grade. This is my 5th year teaching second grade, and I love it! I graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield with my Bachelors in Elementary Education and my Masters in Education in Reading.
Let me tell you a little about myself. My husband, Jesse, and I have two beautiful girls. One is a freshman in college and one is in eighth grade. We also have a Boston Terrier named Miley and a dachshund named Oliver! In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, watching basketball, listening to music, and spending time with my family.
I am excited to begin a new year of learning in second grade! It is my goal to make this a fun and exciting year for all my students. I want to help my students become more independent and learn habits that will make them successful leaders. I also want to help them become more fluent in reading, writing, and math and instill a love of reading that will last a lifetime. I want all my kids to be excited about coming to school, love learning, make new friends, and be proud of their accomplishments. I can't wait to see how much each student will grow this year!
