Dear East Elementary Families,
I hope that you have enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing summer. I am thrilled to welcome you to our building for the 2017-2018 school year. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Susan Shultz, and I am the Assistant Principal at East Elementary. I have been in education for 13 years. I spent ten of those years teaching elementary education and three years teaching Art education in the Waynesville School District.
Our dedicated staff is already planning and preparing for an outstanding 2017-2018 school year. At East Elementary we will strive to maintain high academic expectations and encourage 21st century learning and innovation. We want to create respectful and responsible learners through communication, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
We want to promote a safe and positive school climate, while also developing confident leaders. This year our students will be focusing on Sean Covey’s, The 7 Habits for Happy Kids. Our staff will be also be participating in a book study, The Leader in Me, by Stephen Covey. As students learn the principles and processes of the habits at this young age, they will have a running start on becoming happy and productive adults.
I am so excited and proud to be serving as the Assistant Principal at East Elementary. I am looking forward to assisting you with any concerns to help support your child’s education. You can reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 573-842-2150.
