     (Waynesville Adult Education & Literacy)
We are currently enrolling for the 21-22 school year. We service students who are seeking their HiSet, want to improve their English skills in our ESL/ELL class, and students who may have a High School Diploma but want to brush up on skills. Students wishing to enroll must commit to all three nights during our enrollment week, plus an additional amount of classroom hours to show progression.
We hold class on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday each week at the Waynesville Career Center (WCC), in room 106. Classes begin at 4:30 and end at 8:30. Students enrolling must be a minimum of 17 years of age. We do not allow children or spouses to stay while you are in class.
Waynesville School District is a Tobacco-Free district. District policy does not allow weapons.
Our Enrollment nights are as following:
    May 9, 10, & 11

Are you considering getting your high school equivalency diploma?

Congratulations on taking the first step towards your educational goals! Here is some important information to help you understand our program goals and potential outcomes. Our classes are set-up for individual lessons. Teachers work with students in the area of most need.

Because every student has different needs it is impossible to give a timeline of when one will finish the preparation program. The more time and effort one puts into the program and one's starting skill level help determine when an individual is ready to take the HiSET test. To make significant gains toward getting a high school equivalency diploma is important to attend class each night that we have class.

There is no cost associated with our program. The AEL program is free to everyone.  When you are ready to take the HISET test, there is a cost associated with it. We do not administer the test to you; we only prepare you to take the test.

Already have your high school diploma but want to score better on the ASVAB or college entrance exams, or job related testing? Our AEL program can assess your weak areas and help you focus on those specific skills and learn the concepts needed to score higher.

There are a few instances when classes are cancelled. Any day Waynesville is out of school due to holiday or weather, AEL classes are also cancelled.

If you have further questions, do not hesitate to call (573)842-2546 or send us a message through Facebook.
