• Maternal Child Nursing

    This course is an overview of the physical, social, and psychological aspects of caring for the childbearing family. The maternal section of this class introduces the student to the concepts and principles of caring for the pregnant woman, the expecting family, and the newborn. Emphasis is placed on a holistic approach to care that includes physiological, psychosocial, and psychological components. Pediatrics is an overview of the care of the child from birth through adolescence using the nursing process. Pediatric Nursing is a course designed to introduce the student to the art and science of caring for the pediatric patient. The pediatric patient requires specialized care based upon their unique patterns of growth and development. This course provides the student with the necessary tools needed to meet the needs of the pediatric patient.
